Christine Appel (PhD, Open University Catalunya, Spain)
Christine works as lecturer in the domains EFL, Teacher training and Instructional design at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
One of the projects she coordinated for the Office of Learning Technologies was the EU LLP project SpeakApps.
Furthermore she is on the University Committees for e-Learning Doctoral Programme and Innovation Support.

Nelson Arditto (MA TESOL, DELTA​, British Council, Valencia, Spain)
Nelson is a teacher, teacher trainer and e-moderator, currently based in Valencia, Spain. He has taught English as a Foreign Language in the UK, Syria, Jordan, Ukraine, the UAE, China and Spain over the last 20 years, he organises and tutors on Trinity College teacher training courses and moderates on British Council online courses for primary and secondary teachers worldwide. His interests include Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and ICT in ELT.  He is currently working on digital materials design and is looking for teaching and research opportunities in higher education.

Patrick de Boer (BEd, CLIL Media, The Netherlands)
Patrick has been a teacher of Mathematics at secondary level in The Netherlands since 2007. Having experienced bilingual education as a student himself, he adopted CLIL methodologies early in his teaching career. Recently Patrick decided to put his years of experience as both CLIL teacher and CLIL coach to use and became a full time teacher-trainer.
To stimulate professional discussion and exchange of CLIL ideas in an even wider community, he launched CLIL Magazine, a free, international online magazine, in 2012. More information on this and his other related initiatives can be found at www.clilmedia.com

Paul Braddock (British Council Barcelona, Spain)
Paul has been involved in English language teaching for over twelve years, having worked in several countries, including Japan, Hungary, Portugal and the UK. He is now based in Barcelona, where he manages the British Council’s Teaching English website. His great interest is teacher development and, over the last few years, has become increasingly interested in the use of technology in the classroom and as a tool for professional development.  His special interests include teenagers in EFL and/or mainstream education and digital literacies & ‘flipped’ learning.

Tuncer Can, (PhD, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Turkey)
Dr. Tuncer Can is currently teaching at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education, ELT Department. In 2005, he was granted a Fulbright Scholarship and he spent a year at Syracuse University, NY, USA, where he taught Turkish via videoconferencing. Dr. Can has taken part in eight EU Erasmus+ Projects, also related to immersive environments, teacher training and foreign language learning (1) CAMELOT, (2) YouRNI, (3) TABLIO, (4) GUINEVERE, (5) ARTICULAN, (6) YouALLs, (7) KEY SKILLS and (8) STREAMS. He has been a part time scholar at Turkish Air Force Academy, IU Linguistics Department, Medipol University and Bahçeşehir University ELT Departments. Dr. Can has also edited and co-authored the “Less is More English Coursebook Series”, “Full Circle Integrated Skills Series” and “Swifts English Coursebook Series” from Press Glocal. He is the director of IUC Continuing Education Center and Vice-Director of IUC School of Foreign Languages.

Joe Dale (UK)
Joe Dale is an independent languages consultant from the UK who works with a range of organisations such as Network for Languages, ALL, The British Council, the BBC, Skype, Microsoft and The Guardian. He was host of the TES MFL forum for six years, former SSAT Languages Lead Practitioner, a regular conference speaker and recognised expert on technology and language learning. He has spoken at conferences and run training courses in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, the Far East and Australasia. He was a member of the Ministerial Steering Group on languages for the UK coalition government and advised on the Linguanet Worldwide project for The Language Company. He created ICT activities for the new Institut Français, ALL and Network for Languages Primary French Project Niveau Bleu, Blanc and Rouge courses and was short-listed for a NAACE Impact Award in 2013 too. Joe is currently supporting the Erasmus Plus project Conflict to Cooperation with 5 European countries. He was recently described in a Guardian article as an ‘MFL guru’ and ‘the man behind the #mfltwitterati.’ Since early 2019 he is cohosting the #MFLTwitterati Podcast: Celebrating the voices of the modern language teaching community

Erik Devlies (OLVA, Brugge, Belgium)
Erik Devlies is half-time teacher of French in secondary education, half-time working for the Belgian OER-platform KlasCement. He is involved in several projects that all have technology enhanced learning as highest common denominator. He specialises in how ICT can play a role in interactive courses and differentiated instruction, as well in organising your life as a teacher. He has given workshops and trainings on conferences and in schools, mainly focusing on (foreign) language learning. https://www.erikdevlies.be

Jeroen van Engen (MA, University of Groningen, Netherlands)
Jeroen is lecturer of Dutch at the University of Groningen. He is particularly interested in e-learning, mlearning, personal learning environment and learning analytics. And in specific CALL-related topics such as CMC and language testing.
He participated in various EU projects as researcher and teacher / trainer including the SpeakApps projects.
His specialties are: Dutch as a second/foreign language, testing and assessment, CALL, Portfolio learning (e-portfolio, ELP), e-learning, blended learning, developing online courses in Drupal and Blackboard. Drupal (for education) specialist.

Héctor H. Gassó (University of Valencia, Spain)
Héctor teaches Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Valencia, and is involved in teaching Spanish as Second Language, since fifteen years ago, collaborating on programs for foreigners in the University of Valencia and participating in some EU projects for second language teaching.
In addition, he is involved in the process of implementation of ICT in the classroom and teaches at the ICT academic itinerary of the School of Education and in a Postgraduate of Digital Competence for Teachers.
He is particularly interested in ICT educational innovation, Blended Learning and development and implementation of technologies in the educational process.

Dr. Ana Gimeno-Sanz (PhD, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain)
Ana, PhD in English Philology, has been a member of the teaching and research staff at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain, since 1985 and is Associate Professor in English Language. She has published numerous research papers on language learning and teaching, more specifically in the fields of English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). Dr Gimeno is Head of the CAMILLE Research Group, devoted to R&D in CALL and TELL. She has been Project Manager for several funded multimedia CALL R&D projects which have led to the publication of a number of language courses both on CD-ROM and online.  She has been President of the European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (EUROCALL) for 6 years (2005-2011) and is Editor of the association’s online journal, The EUROCALL Review. Dr. Gimeno is currently Executive Director of WorldCALL.

Natalia Góralczyk (PhD , Pedagogical University of Cracow, Poland)
Natalia Góralczyk is a PhD student at the Pedagogical University of Cracow, Poland. Her main research interest includes foreign language learning and teaching, in particular, glottogeragogics, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and teaching English for Medical Purposes. She is currently writing her dissertation which focuses on teaching selected foreign language skills to older learners with the use of new technologies. She graduated in English Studies with the focus on methods of teaching. She teaches English for Medical Purposes at the Language Centre of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. She is a member of the Polish Association of Modern Languages.

Jakob E. Hansen (The Friendly Disruptor, Denmark)
Jakob has more than 10 years of experience in Education as a innovative Educator and Leader. He was one of the leading forces behind FlowFactory, Denmark’s first High School that was 100% based on Challenge Based Learning and cross curricula Real World projects, together with both local and international corporations and organizations (like LEGO Education, SamLabs and Danfoss).
His mission is to inspire us to reinvent education, to think differently about learning and to aim higher and see new creative possibles for learning that are based on future trends instead of historical traditions.
With a
background in industrial and interaction design he has been teaching Design, Entrepreneurship and Coding and App Dev. (Swift coding in X code.)
He now  works with schools all around the world (South Africa, England, Ukraine, UAE, Germany, Denmark) as a independent consultant. The focus is on Challenge Based Learning, Leading Change and the Design of new Learning Spaces. Jakob is also one of three co-founders of the new nonprofit organization www.toward2030.org

Dr. Sara Hennessy (PhD, University College London, UK)
Sara Hennessy is a Reader in Teacher Development and Pedagogical Innovation in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on professional development of teachers in using classroom technologies more effectively. This includes support for classroom dialogue to support subject learning as well as critical and higher level thinking. Her work produces both professional development resources and analytic tools for research in this area, currently in collaboration with Mexican colleagues. She has also co-authored an extensive open, online professional development resource for school teachers in sub-Saharan Africa. Rinie Hoeks-Mentjens ( MA, Remedial Teacher, Consultant Dyslexia and Foreign languages, Netherlands)
Rinie Hoeks-Mentjens worked as an English teacher in the Netherlands for more than 25 years. She has specialized in the field of dyslexia and its consequences when learning foreign languages, with the main focus on EFL. In that capacity she has published several articles, contributed as general editor and co-author to English coursebooks and developed remedial English material for dyslexic pupils in Dutch primary and secondary education.

Dr. Sake Jager (PhD, University of Groningen, Netherlands)
Sake Jager holds a PhD in applied linguistics. As lecturer at the University of Groningen in courses on computer-assisted language learning he conducts and coordinates applied language learning research.
In his capacity of project manager & Head of the related University Department he combines subject expertise in (language) learning and ICT in blended learning environment.
His special interests are: Language teaching and language learning, E-Learning and project management.

Ton Koenraad (MA, MEd, TELLConsult, Netherlands) 
Ton Koenraad, former secondary school teacher, worked for twenty years as teacher educator & e-project manager at the Faculty of Education, Hogeschool Utrecht, University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
He has initiated and coordinated international projects in the fields of computer supported innovation in education and for modern languages and teacher education in particular.
On behalf of TELLConsult he was/is full partner in the projects on which  many of the courses offered by TELLConsult Training are based.
His special interests within the Computer Assisted & Mobile Language Learning (CALL, MALL) and e-Learning domains are Instructional Design, Telecollaboration, Classroom Technologies and 3D Virtual Worlds. His publications and contributions to conferences are available from his personal pages

Kurt Kohn (Prof. Dr. / Director at Steinbeis Transfer Center Language Learning Media, Germany)
Kurt Kohn is professor emeritus of Applied English Linguistics at the University of Tübingen and director of the Steinbeis Transfer Center Language Learning Media. His research and teaching interests include second language learning and teaching, e-learning for languages, English as a lingua franca, intercultural communication as well as translation and interpreting. Since the early 1990s, he has been involved in EU projects on multimedia content authoring, pedagogic corpus development, intercultural telecollaboration, interpreter training in virtual reality, and language teacher education. Henk la Roi (MA, Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands)
Henk la Roi studied English at Radboud University Nijmegen after having obtained a teaching degree in English and Dutch at the teacher-training institute in Zwolle. He has been working in education since 1990, at schools of higher general secondary and pre-university education, and since 2007 as a teacher-trainer at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences.
Henk has worked with IT in education since 1993 and has experience with the use of interactive whiteboards in language teaching. IT applications have a regular place in his courses at Windesheim.

Gert Lemmens
Gert Lemmens has worked in secondary education in Belgium since 2002.  He is a passionate teacher who loves using new technologies in his classroom.
In 1995 he started a coaching program for teachers who want to become better at integrating technology use in teaching and learning. He is specialised in didactical and pedagogical training and regularly contributes to  professional development days for teachers and at international events, webinars & workshops.
He has delivered on-site courses for the EU Teacher Academy and won several prizes with his “new way of teaching”.

Suzanne Lustenhouwer (www.toolsforpedagogy.com, Netherlands)
Suzanne has been a teacher of English in secondary education in Amsterdam for 9 years. She has been an Apple Distinguished Educator and Apple Education Trainer since 2013. In her English classroom, Suzanne used technology to create rich media resources and designs learning activities that demand creativity and critical thinking skills from her students. As an independent consultant, Suzanne works with schools to design, develop and implement innovative learning initiatives.
In 2019 Suzanne started another venture called ‘Voor de klas’. On this website, Dutch teachers can find all workshops, guided tours, projects and competitions organised by businesses, museums and other organisations for education.

Małgorzata Anna Łuszcz (Ph.D,  Pedagogical University, Crakow, Poland)
Małgorzata Anna Łuszcz holds a Ph.D in linguistics. Her research domain encompasses selected issues connected with new trends in the teaching of English supported with modern technologies. For the aims of having an investigative praxis, she works at the Technology Enhanced Language Education Department at Pedagogical University of Cracow.

Salvador Montaner-Villalba (Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain)
Salvador, Ph.D. in English Philology at UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain), combines teaching ESP (English for Specific Purposes) at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain with online teacher training on OER (Open Educational Resources) & CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) at INTEF (Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Educativa y Formación del Profesorado- National Institute of Training Teachers on Educational Technology) from the central Department of Education in Spain.
Salvador is also Chair of the CMC  (Computer-Mediated Communication) SIG (Special Interest Group) at EuroCALL.
His research focuses on Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) with a special interest in Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL).
He has also worked as an EFL teacher for more than 20 years in Secondary Education,  in Valencia, Spain since 1996.

Łukasz Olesiak (Pedagogical University of Cracow)
Łukasz Olesiak is an experienced EFL teacher at the Technology Enhanced Language Education Department at the Pedagogical University of Cracow and a teacher trainer for Macmillan Education. His professional interests focus on using digital technologies in English Language Education. Author of distance and blended learning materials and courses.

David Richardson (B.A. Hons, PGCE, Dip RSA Tefl)
David taught English at secondary level in the UK between 1977 and 1980 and has taught English as a Foreign Language/English for Specific Purposes/Teacher Training specialist since 1980 in Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Angola and Sweden. He has been running teacher training courses for Primary, Junior and Secondary teacher trainees since 1991. He was an early adopter of ICT as a means of teaching and learning languages, creating one of the first web-based courses in Sweden in 1994, and has a continuing interest in using augmented reality environments and mobile learning as tool for teaching and learning foreign languages.

Christel Schneider (CSiTrain, Germany)
Christel Schneider is founder and managing director of CSiTrain. Until 2012 she was EU project manager and director of the ICC international language association. Prior to this she worked as head of the language department for the German adult education association in Schleswig Holstein. She also taught didactics and methodology, as a visiting lecturer at Hamburg University (Dept. of Education), for over ten years and has run numerous teacher trainer seminars both on a national and international level. Her experience in online training stretches over a period of more than fifteen years. She designed, set up and delivered an online teacher training course for Cornelsen Publishing and has been involved in several EU projects. As part of her project work she has been involved in teaching and learning in virtual worlds and has developed her skills in machinimatography.

Prof. Dr. Shona Whyte (Professor at Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, France; http://efl.unice.fr)
Shona Whyte teaches EFL and second language acquisition at the University of Nice, and trains pre- and in-service language teachers at its School of Teaching and Education, where she heads the Masters in Teaching English programme.  She has participated in collaborative research projects on the integration of technology in language teaching, including iTILT (interactive Technologies In Language Teaching,http://itilt.eu).  Her research interests include classroom interaction, task-based language teaching, young learners, and CALL teacher education; recent publications include Cutrim Schmid & Whyte (Ed). Teaching Languages with technology: Communicative approaches to interactive whiteboard use (Bloomsbury Academic, 2014) and Implementing and Researching Technological Innovation in Language Teaching: The Case of Interactive Whiteboards for EFL in French Schools (Palgrave Macmillan).]

Irfan Simsek (PhD, Istanbul University, Turkey)
Dr. Irfan Simsek completed his MA at Istanbul University in 2009 on the “Development of An Integratable Online Examination Module for E-Learning Systems”. In 2008, he was invited to Melbourne University as a visiting scholar for six months. He studied online education and undertook training courses using the Second Life platform. He started his PhD at Istanbul University in 2009 on the “Development of a Web Based Intelligent Examination System According to Measurement and Evaluation Criteria in Education”. He spent six months as post-doctoral researcher at Northern Illinois University in USA supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Dr. Simsek has taken part in one TUBITAK, one ISTKA, nine EU Projects, and more than 30 national projects.
His research area is educational technology, distance education, virtual reality, augmented reality, virtual labs, eye-tracking, artificial intelligence and technology integration in education.

Alicja Wujec Kaczmarek (PhD, Warsaw University, Opole Municipal Teacher Training Centre, Poland)
Alicja is a former secondary school teacher, now employed as a teacher trainer while also working as a PhD student at Warshaw University.
She has managed several Comenius projects including the Comenius Regio project on IWBs in education Tabula Alba. Special interests: technology in teaching foreign languages and teacher professional development.
