In June TELLConsult senior advisor Ton Koenraad attended the event organised by University of Applied Sciences, Hogeschool Utrecht dedicated to the start of the retirement of former colleague Maaike Hajer, lector at the lectorate ‘Plurilingualism & Education’.
In her exit lecture Maaike gave an overview of her work, insights and (project) results related to her expertise, language-oriented, subject-specific pedagogies, also documented in the publication (in Dutch) for the occasion, available as PDF here.

He also made his acquaintance with her successor, Jantien Smit, informed her about the Erasmus+ Project TEMPLATE and briefly discussed potential collaborative options to offer related professional development activities in the near future.

A week later Ton also attended the conference on  Formative Assessment in Language Teaching organised by the Leiden University Language Learning Resource Centre (LLRC). He enjoyed catching up with keynote speaker Bas Trimbos and sharing information about the TEMPLATE Project with him and other attendants, including HU_Utrecht, LevendeTalen and international colleagues present at both events.
In his interactive presentation Bas provided an impressive overview of issues and developments regarding formative assessment with a special focus on MFL education.

The input provided (for more conference presentation materials see this folder) will enable us to further support the TEMPLATE project and TELLConsult’s Erasmus+ course on #assessment in MFL education in particular.
